- Use a clean washcloth or gauze and press it slightly on your closed eyelids for 10-15 minutes. This will soften the eyelids and the mucus-crust formed at the area where the eyelashes grow to remove them. In the meantime keep the washcloth or the gauze warm by immersing it often in warm water.
- Then massage your eyelids with your index near the eyelashes roots.
- Put 1 teaspoon of baby shampoo in warm water. This will not irritate your eyes (e.g. Johnson Baby Shampoo). Dip a gauze or cotton swab in this solution, squeeze it and rub the roots of your eyelashes intensely for 30 seconds for each eye.
- Rinse your eyes thoroughly and wipe then gently with a clean towel.
